Apple 2 Prototyping Card (fullsize) I wanted to learn more about the cards used with the Apple 2 computers, so I started the task of see.
CPC464 Joystick Splitter Simple passive device that breaks out the joystick port on the Amstrad CPC 464 computer so that two. CPC464 Joystick Splitter (Faceplate A1) I made a simple joystick splitter for the Amstrad CPC 464 on a simple PCB, so I thought - why not ma. C64 Joystick Adapter I recently bought a Raspberry Pi for use with emulators on modern systems, and so I wanted an easy w. C64 Joystick Adapter (Faceplate) A rather stylish looking faceplate to go with the C64 Joystick Adapter, it covers up most of the ele. ZX Interface 2.021 I've grown fond of cartridge formats in my later years, mostly because of the feeling you get by bro. BulkyMIDI-32 Extras BulkyMIDI-32 is based on the mt32-pi project, bringing you the all the auditory excellence that was. Revision A which is a more standard SID2SID-like board is also available, should you want a slightly more classical version of it. Revision C adds the pseudo-stereo mode so that you can get two SIDs playing in stereo, each SID adding their nuanced sound into the mix. A third option is to replace the modulator with one that adds something like a 3.5mm stereo audio connector, which is what I did with my other PCB for C64-Modulator-Replacement.įor more information and a complete BOM, see the github repository for this project. This means you'll need to add relevant connectors to your system such as RCA sockets, either in the form of custom-made cables hanging out the back or by drilling and adding the connectors to your case (please don't drill into a case and expect me to buy it later). The stock computer does not have any way of connecting up the audio from the second SID, the standard A/V cables are naturally mono as that is what the system was designed to be. #Commodore 64 sidplay 64 software#
Using a simple board like this will put a second SID chip at $DE00 and add 3 voices to your system, with suitable software and a selection of SID files you can play music on your system like never experienced before (your mileage may vary)! For everyday use you can use it in pseudo stereo-mode by having each SID play the same thing simultaniously.Īs with anything dealing with SID chips you should know what you are doing, this board does not deal with the specific power requirements used between SID types and putting the wrong thing in there will certainly kill the chip you value the most or both of them! Personally I built the board with the intention of using it with substitutes like SwinSID, SwinSID Ultimate and ARMsid and all those should be perfectly safe to use in any combination (that way you don't deprive another C64 of its excellent audio qualities).
There are many Stereo SID boards out there, but this one is mine - mostly because I did not feel like tracking down or paying premium to get one of those wirewrap sockets.
